There is not really any clear-cut history of the rites of Byzantium, just a lot of mention of it in other places: books on history, on spirituality, on Eastern Christendom in general. I would guess it is so integrated into life that Eastern Christians did not think it a separate topic.

Thank you so much for your prayers and kindness!

The Rad TradThe Rad Tradhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00899289024837953345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3348523519788188753.post-33113468278651242772013-06-30T12:30:44.081-05:002013-06-30T12:30:44.081-05:00Rad Trad,

You've written extensively about the history of the Roman Rite. I'm wondering, especially given your membership at a Byzantine parish, if you might consider a series on the history of the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom? I've searched the web for something similar to Fortescue or Jungmann on the Roman Rite, but come up empty. Even Orthodox web sites have very little regarding the development of the rite. As I say, I've found none at all.

Given your knowledge and ability, I think you'd do great just to the subject.Merely a suggestion, and you remain in my prayers.

Jon
Lancaster, PAAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
