I wonder if Christ also refered to David's tragedy with Tamar (she was a virgin of the Temple, her rape wasn't like raping the Temple?) and yet he stood by his son, out of honest painful fatherly love probably collecting wrath from the righteous. Christ definitely stood by David because when he was called "son of David" He answered, yet He was and is God Himself.<br />David greatest quality was and is that he was a man of God, not a king nor a military leader (the Bible hints the victories were sent by God not won by skill).<br />I found an icon of David, he was called Saint and prophet.
