Gaudeamus Omnes in Domino....

The old Mass for the Assumption, taken from the Rad Trad's 1911 Missale Romanum:

The introit is quite stunning to hear

  2. As there is no private message system, I can only post this somewhere off subject. Sorry. Do you have a good playlist or links for Byzantine songs, especially for Our Lady? If you do not want to post an answer here, you could message me at google + system. https://plus.google.com/u/0/110235125002095218190/posts

  3. Stunning is exactly the right word for this Introit.

Thank you for highlighting this wonderful introduction into tomorrow's great Marian Feast Day.

It's the same Introit in my 1945 The Saint Andrew Daily Missal.

    Translation.
Let us all rejoice in the Lord,
Celebrating a festival-day in honour of The Blessed Virgin Mary,
For whose Assumption the Angels rejoice
And give praise to The Son of God.
    Psalm.
My heart hath uttered a good word:
I speak my works to the King.
    Versicle.
Glory be to the Father . . .

    1. Propers miserably destroyed by Pius XII. For shame!

    2. And there are still some people claiming that Pacelli had "authority" to do that...

    3. Most RC "traditionalists" whom I have known say that. I am sorry to say that I have never heard Gaudeamus because of that mentality.
